Electricity restored
Masterton: Power has been restored to most of the 7000 homes in Wairarapa that were without electricity early yesterday after a magpie flew into a transformer.
The bird strike affected power to homes in Greytown, Martinborough and surrounding areas in Wairarapa.
Transpower said the grid fault was fixed.
Powerco’s website yesterday said most homes in Martinborough were expected to have power returned by early afternoon. — RNZ
