Commercial greed is creating poverty in NZ Israel troubles
I HAVE never considered that here in New Zealand there has been a poverty problem. I have lived and worked overseas, in places where poverty is in everyday existence, and in many instances no governmental assistance of financial benefits.
But, over the past two years with this viral invasion and restrictions unfolding, the disparity between the haves and the havenots has been highlighted.
For those struggling with budgets, local rates have increased and supermarket prices have increased, putting stress on those budgets, but filling up largely the financial pockets of these commercially minded moguls.
Will it transpire that food will be priced off the shelves one day? Where does greed leave one?
So much for profit margins, but what about the hand of mercy and generousheartedness to one’s fellow man who happen to be struggling with budgets within our communities. Raywin Townsend
