Southern fruit and vege

SOUTHLAND and Otago may consider buying the next Taieri Plain farm to be offered for sale to reestablish market gardening there.

Along with fruit from Central Otago we would be more independent and able to consume produce grown locally.

Of course, the swedes would come from Southland following the first frosts. The benefits would be fresher, more flavoursome produce that required fewer air miles. Jane Nimmo
