Tax the wealthy

LISA Marriott (ODT, 12.5.22) reports how Labour and previous governments continue to not have a tax on wealth. What I don't get is why successive governments are afraid of this. It's not as if the wealthy 5% or 1% represent a lot of votes. Is it then that it's a subtle form of bribery going on that makes successive governments afraid. Bernard Jennings
