‘‘WOW!’’ is the only word to describe the new Mosgiel community pool, which had its official ‘roof shout' celebration over the weekend.

The MTF Finance Dunedin South team were there to celebrate the milestone. They had their BBQ up and running, making the day an absolute celebration of community spirit.

As major supporters of the Mosgiel pool, MTF Finance Dunedin South is excited to see the new complex take shape, and they’d like to share an update on its progress.

The new facility will have five water pools. A lap, learners, toddlers, hydrotherapy pools, along with a spa pool. It will be fully rampaccessible so the whole community can enjoy the establishment. The car park will have evehicle and ebike charging stations for pool goers.

The construction team have worked with Aukaha on opportunities to weave cultural elements into the design and look of the building. The motifs in the precast vertical panels depict taniwha teeth, a striking feature that stands out as soon as you enter the building.

The aquatic facility is due to open in May 2023 and is budgeted to cost about $21.3 million.

“MTF Finance Dunedin South is very proud to be supporting the new pool here in Mosgiel,” Tony Gow, owner of MTF Finance Dunedin South, says. “We can’t wait for it to be up and running.”

One of the successful components of the fundraising has been the Pool Builder campaign.

The Trust have been busy contacting everyone to ensure their information is still correct, so if you are a Pool Builder already, thank you! Please take a moment to check your name on the temporary sign that has been installed at the entry of the construction site and contact Treasurer, Denise Ross – email denise.ross@mtf.co.nz – if you have any queries or changes.

The new pool has been made possible by the Taieri Community Facilities Trust. A combination of hard work from the Trust, community grants and, of course, members of the public has made this pool complex a reality.

MTF Finance Dunedin South are proud to be sponsoring the new spa pool – they can’t wait to try it out!
