Arrest over hitandrun

Auckland: An arrest has been made after a man died following what police describe as a hitandrun in Henderson.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Williams said emergency services were called to a crash in The Concourse, an industrial street near the Northwestern Motorway, on Friday night.

A man had been hit by a vehicle and was found seriously injured, he said. The man died at the scene.

A 42yearold man was arrested and charged with failing to stop to ascertain injury or death following a crash, Snr Sgt Williams said. He was expected to appear in the Waitakere District Court on Thursday. — RNZ
