SENTENCED by Judge Emma Smith in the Dunedin District Court on Thursday and yesterday were.—

Benjamin Dylan Olsen (30), two charges of burgling enclosed yard (trailer taken from each), Riccarton Rd, Mosgiel, and Cuddie Close, East Taieri, August 2324 last year; stealing trailer, Gormack St, Balclutha, between September 1 and 9, failing to carry out Search and Surveillan­ce Act obligation­s (refused to provide PINs for phones), Balclutha, between September 6 and 9 last year; unlawfully possessing pistol (.22 Ruger), unlawfully possessing ammunition (122 pistol bullets), failing to carry out Search and Surveillan­ce Act obligation­s (refused to provide cellphone passcode), Dunedin, January 20 this year; breaching community work (failed to report), Balclutha, between May 5 and July 1 last year, cancellati­on of community work, resentence on the two aggravated disqualifi­ed driving charges on which it was imposed, 26 months’ jail, reparation $7057, not to access, possess or use any firearm or related item.

Manaia Jackie Morgan (26), of Christchur­ch, injuring by unlawful act (coward punch, male victim), Dunedin, October 14; assault (punched expartner), Dunedin, November 22; possessing a weapon (nunchucks), Dunedin, April 25, eight months’ home detention, court costs $130.

Zane Christian Clarke (18), of Dunedin, injuring by unlawful act (went to Prince Albert Road Dairy to buy cigarettes, denied due to no proof of age, became verbally abusive to staff member, used hand (which was in plaster) to punch plastic protective screen, resulting in it smashing and one piece ricochetin­g on to side of staff member’s head, causing wound), February 1, 75 hours’ community work, nine months’ supervisio­n, reparation $200 (plastic screen), court costs $130.

Andrew William Sims (44), parttime worker, of Dunedin, threatenin­g act (victim male known to him; arrived outside victim’s flat, threw wooden board and eggs at flat, yelled at victim who had shut himself inside; victim fled and sought refuge with associate, while victim away Sims threw stones through window at front of flat, smashed window at back of flat), Dunedin, November 12, nine months’ supervisio­n, reparation $707.15 (damage done), court costs $130.

Aaron Peter Morgan (57), labourer, of Dunedin, aggravated drinkdrivi­ng (1005mcg), State Highway 1, April 19, 150 hours’
