Aucklanders ready for southern move

-

Three local companies Te Aroha Landing, GeoMetrix and Te Aroha Property Brokers teamed up recently to present Te Aroha as a real alternative to the overcrowded housing market at the recent Auckland Home Show.

Te Aroha Landing released stage 3 of the riverside village, comprised of eleven, 2 and 3 bedroom units, at the Auckland Home show along with two other local developments, ‘‘The Railway land’’ and Rewi street.

GeoMetrix project manager Peter Croft said Aucklanders were impressed with what Te Aroha has to offer.

Price and location were significant incentives along with the towns attributes of being a Spa town, the Hauraki Rail Trail Cycleway and our mountain.

‘‘Our location and the fact we are only 90 minutes from central Auckland means we are a serious option for those wanting to move out of Auckland,’’ said Croft.

Te Aroha landing is currently constructing stage 2 with half of the units pre sold.

Wayne Herron of Property Brokers said the response to what Te Aroha had to offer at the home show illustrated interested in the town is at an all time high.

‘‘The fact is that we need more property, as many Aucklander’s now see the economic and lifestyle benefits of relocating,’’ said Herron.

Meanwhile, low levels of housing stock in some regions of New Zealand are continuing to benefit sellers, according to figures released by realestate.co.nz.

Real–time market statistics from the site, which has the largest number of residential for sale property listings in the country, show that with the exception of Auckland, there has been a gradual decline in housing stock over and above the typical midwinter seasonal lull.

‘‘This has resulted in a lift in asking prices, most notably in the Coromandel, where the region had only 141 new listings and yet hit $636,297 for the average asking price.

‘‘This is up 7.2 per cent from the previous month and is an all-time high,’’ says realestate.co.nz CEO Brendon Skipper.
