Te Aroha Cobras keep Plate campaign alive
The Te Aroha Cobras- D travelled to Otorohanga to take on their C-division team in the Waikato Plate.
Te Aroha started almost timidly against the high-graded Otorohanga team.
Otorohanga struck first scoring in 20th minute of the game. Directed on the side line by Matt Graham, Te Aroha instantly changed their mode of play and shorten their passing game.
Ryan O’Conner (MoM) rampaged through the centre of the field, before David Bradbury set up James Lee to equalise.
Liam Gallagher scored the 2nd from a corner, putting Te Aroha in the lead. Jack Keeys used his unassailable speed to score from the tightest of angels, extending the lead.
Then Bradbury sent Lee through for another but after beating three players, Lee offloaded to Patrick Leahy who scored.
At half time Te Aroha were leading 4-1 Otorohanga started the second half with a point to prove.
Ten minutes into the half Otorohanga scored. Te Aroha desperately tried to hang on to their lead but Otorohanga scored again, making it 4-3.
However, the pressure was released when header from Bradbury put Lee in for his second goal of the game.

The NZI Te Aroha Reserves played the Waikato Cup against Waihi FC. Sadly, Te Aroha was knocked out of the cup by a competent Waihi in a 3-0 loss.
