The Morrinsville Lions Club

is continuing its work raising funds to help good causes, while providing a community service.

In 2019 the Morrinsville Lions Club started cutting firewood to sell to help fund some local projects. But last year when the Warkworth Lions club put out a challenge to all Lions Clubs to raise money to fund one of the new rooms in the expansion project of the ICU at Starship children’s hospital at a cost of $408,000, Morrinsville Lions decided to ramp up their firewood project and set a target of $30,000 for this project. They have an incredibly enthusiastic group and have been working hard and have already donated $20,000 towards the Starship project, and have a lot more firewood to sell. They have also donated $8000 to the Lions Cancer Lodge in Hamilton to refurbish one of their rooms. Once they have achieved their goal of $30,000 for starship they will be taking on further worthwhile projects.
