Time to create at Orewa’s Estuary Arts
Next week is the school holidays and if you’re looking for some creative holiday ideas, check out the Estuary Arts Centre.
The friendly, fantastic team has some excellent artistic activities, suitable for children and teenagers.
A highlight of the week is a public programme taking place on Friday September 30, Paint a Cup – Drop-in session from 11 2pm. Paint your own spring themed cup. Cups will be professionally glazed, fired and ready for collection two weeks later. No booking needed. Children accompanied by an adult. Only $10 for members and $12 for non members. On the same day local author Lotte Wotherspoon will do a reading from her new book ‘Pukeko Dancing on The Old Dirt Track’.
Half and full day sessions available:
Whimsical Watercolours with Amanda Kirk, or Floral MultiMedia with Joanna Duder. Both sessions suitable for ages 5 to 13, from 10 - 3pm. Greek masks for Zandri Clarke from 9.30 to 12.30pm, or Dreamcatchers with Sarita Taylor from 1pm to 4pm. Both sessions suitable for ages 5 to 13. Figure drawing and fantasy costumes with Zandri Clarke from 9.30 - 12.30pm, and Spring Skateboards from 1pm to 4pm. Both sessions are suitable for ages 7 to 13.
Felting Fantasy with Sue Law for ages 8+ from 10 to 3pm. Public programme 11 - 2pm, Paint a Cup and reading by Lotte Wotherspoon.
Body Art for teens with Kim Boyd, from 10 to 3pm, for ages 13+ (teenagers).
Van Gogh Painting with Joanna Duder, from 10 to 3pm, for ages 5 to 13.
Feather Headdresses with Sarita Taylor from 10 to 3pm, for ages 5 to 13.
Fantastic Flowers with Sue Law from 10 to 3pm, for ages 5 to 13.
Superheroes and Mythical Creatures with Michael Irwin from 10 to 3pm, for ages 7 to 13.
Also, SPFX Make-up with Dani Courtney from 10 to 3pm, for ages 7 to 13.
