Praise for crime fight

Po­lice Min­is­ter Stu­art Nash com­mended the ef­forts of po­lice to stop or­gan­ised crime in Ro­torua this week “which has dis­rupted the metham­phetamine trade by mem­bers of the Head Hunters gang” he said. Four peo­ple were ar­rested and ap­peared in court on Thurs­day in con­nec­tion with an al­leged drug ring. The min­is­ter’s words were part of a state­ment high­light­ing 9353 (3.5 per cent) fewer peo­ple were vic­tims of crime in New Zealand in the 12 months to Oc­to­ber 31, than the year be­fore.
