Mallard rebuked

Parliament’s Speaker is there to stay. Trevor Mallard was given a stern rebuke from the Prime Minister yesterday afternoon. But Jacinda Ardern says no one covered themselves in glory during the stoush over Mallard’s false rape claim against a Parliamentary worker in the House. Still she says Mallard retains the confidence of Labour and the Government. But she says that doesn’t change her view the Speaker didn’t conduct himself appropriately in Parliament.
