What is the most interesting part of your work/business day?

I love the morning, sitting down with a coffee and planning the day ahead.

How long have you been in business and what do you think drives your success?

I have been in real estate for over 10 years. I am driven by the result not the sale, its corny but I love to make people smile and achieve their goals.

What is the most challenging thing about your work?

The biggest challenge we face is being able to bring a chain of home sales together successfully.

Did you have any mentors throughout your career and how did they influence your decisions?

I don’t have one particular mentor; I love to connect with people who have the same attitude to good service, whether it’s a coffee shop or solicitor. Life moves fast and you remember how people made you feel.

What advice would you give to a person considering opening up a new business?

You have to have self-motivation, you can learn any job but to succeed you need drive and energy.

What goals have you set for yourself?

I don’t really have goals, I kind of wing everything. I hate targets as I feel constrained. I am competitive though, if someone tells me I can’t do something I will show them that I absolutely can!

Where did you study and what degrees do you hold?

I studied in the UK for an accounting qualification CIMA and then again in NZ for my AREINZ.

What is a usual day for you at your business?

No two days are ever the same in this business which keeps it so interesting, but the constant for me begins with coffee and a brisk walk which is then followed with calls and emails. Appraisals and negotiating on behalf of our clients, whilst working through sales and purchase agreements along with viewings of our properties for sale make up the majority of my day. My day then finishes with another long brisk walk around the beautiful Omokoroa peninsula.

What advice would you give to a person considering opening up a new business?

My advice for anyone starting to work as a salesperson in this business would be talk to people. Talk, talk, talk. Never lose sight of who you are, and always remain authentic. This is a great business to be in whatever the market is doing, work hard and work with integrity all the time, every time and you will be just fine!

How long have you been in business and what do you think drives your success?

I have been in business for nearly 11 years. My ‘drive’ or my ‘why’ comes from always being the best I can be. I strive to make every transaction as smooth and as

stress free as possible for my clients, making sure they are fully informed every step of the way is always so important.

What is the most interesting part of your work/business day?

The most interesting part of every day for me is interacting with people. Listening, understanding and helping people keeps my cup full.
