The Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal to raise donations for the Rotorua Salvation Army Foodbank has begun, and we are asking you to be part of it. The six-week appeal, run with the Rotorua Weekender and The Hits Rotorua 97.5FM, is calling for people to donate what money or food items they can afford to the foodbank ahead of Christmas this year. Last year, $65,792.10 was raised for the foodbank through cash and food donations. But this year it comes at a time when many are struggling with a cost-of-living crisis. While food and money is welcome, anyone wanting to help but struggling with this can consider donating their time. The foodbank is a charity that is mostly run and serviced by volunteers. It is a jewel in Rotorua’s social services crown and we’re proud to back it.
