Search called off

Police have called off the search for a 10-year-old boy in Auckland’s Manukau Harbour. Ryder Ferregel has been missing for more than two weeks, after a boat carrying five people capsized near Clarks Beach. His mother, Gemma, died. A police spokesperson said efforts were extensive, and the past fortnight had been difficult for friends and family. Investigations continue into the tragedy, including an inquiry on behalf of the Coroner and one led by Maritime NZ.
