Future of Ports

Auckland’s mayor is being invited to sit down and discuss the future of Ports of Auckland. Wayne Brown has publicly outlined plans to replace the board after public disagreement over its performance and future. The Maritime Union says the Ports are too important to be pulled down by a local power struggle, and is adamant they look good going forward. Auckland branch secretary Russell Mayn says Brown’s demands have no real economic benefit.
