High Court ruling

There is confidence the Climate Change Commission is giving good advice that’s being used in Government decisions. The High Court has confirmed the legality of commission guidance used to inform new emissions budgets. Lawyers for Climate Action New Zealand brought the case challenging calculations and methods used by the commission. Climate Change Minister James Shaw says the ruling confirms what he knew — that the commission’s recommendations are high quality and based on rigorous science.
