Residents ignored
A group of Christchurch resident associations could be excluded from an investigation into the city’s housing intensification rules. An investigator has been appointed after Christchurch City Council rejected the Government’s requirements for new density rules. But it appears the investigator isn’t required to speak with the affected associations — and clarification is being sought. Victoria Neighbourhood Association chair Geoff Banks said it was important as the city’s gone through a lot of turmoil postquake. He said residents feel as if they’re going back to square one without the opportunity to have any input.
