Elevated status offers views and statement entertaining

Dramatic entrances always make a grand statement about a home’s presence and its entertainment factor. This home certainly knows how to execute that concept.

Nestled on an elevated site on the fringe of town, in a quiet pocket of Springfield, it doesn’t even need to open the front door to show there is something different to explore inside.

Dramatic lines introduce a contemporary design – hints of industrial elements adding intrigue to its style.

The stack-bond dark blockwork on the home’s façade is a clue to what to expect. As the double orange doors open, the greeting is grand to say the least. Not grand in the traditional way of chandelier character; grand in a futuristic way. Polished concrete flooring and stack-bonded walls either side of the stairwell draw eyes up to the second level of this home. Expectation is sparked immediately - and this home doesn’t disappoint.

Impressive both in design and space, this home revolves around entertainment. At its heart is a cook’s kitchen – boutique styling and finish providing ample work space, a hidden scullery to keep prep out of sight and sleek finish. Black and white blend their chic styling within the clean lines and lacquered appeal. The sunset dash of red and gold on the splashback instils drama into this area – the perfect talking point as friends gather around the essential bar-stool island to toast the evening’s menu.

Polished concrete flooring continues the introduction of the foyer downstairs, while ply ceilings instil a touch of nature and different tone. Dining provides ample room for settings of eight or more before slipping out to the balcony with its grandstand views to the lake and countryside. Full-height glazing throughout the dining area and lounge stream in natural light, while framing the scenery all around. Lovely by day, it’s at night that this home comes into its own. The kitchen’s splashback is a clue. Clever lighting throughout the home inside is matched by impressive spotlighting outside. The mood is entirely different at night – softer, moodier, theatrical even.

Designed around family and work, the home boasts four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a powder room for added convenience and two spacious living areas. An office can easily be converted into a third lounge if space is important to give teens their own entertainment area.

Four-car garaging gives the teens their own indoor parking as well – or space for a workshop and classic cars, perhaps. Spaced either side of that dramatic entry, one garage has a high stud and there’s side parking for the boat or campervan.

Aesthetically pleasing and architecturally clever, this property is a home for today and tomorrow – designed around lifestyle and entertainment.
