Arts Village events celebrate its 20th
This year The Arts Village turns 20, and it is inviting the community to join in its celebrations tomorrow with live music and korero from special guests talking about the village over the past 20 years.
The event kicks off at 10.30am and runs to 2pm, on The Arts Village Green and outdoor stage.
This weekend also sees the return of The Arts Village’s annual 200 Show, which is filling its walls with more than 200 artworks from the community.
The village says the 200 Show is a perfect opportunity to get some lastminute Christmas presents sorted.
The exhibition is open to the public from tomorrow to January 14.
And the action at the village does not stop next weekend, with its Summer Festival back on Saturday, December 10.
The Summer Festival is an annual market for New Zealand artists and makers offering locally made art and artisan, handmade crafts.
The Arts Village says this is another perfect opportunity to get your Christmas presents sorted.
It says the annual event is popular every year, signalling the beginning of the Summer Art Calendar.
The festival will run on December 10 from 10am to 3pm on the Arts Village Green and outdoor stage, with music, holiday-themed art activities and kai.
