FROM THE NEWS DESK
It’s been a year of big changes for me and it’s not set to slow down anywhere in the near future.
At home we welcomed my daughter into the world in January and every day has just melted into one long joyous, sleepless, moment punctuated by staring at her, smiling and thinking ‘holy hell, I’m a father’.
At work we’ve been given the heavy news that these hallowed pages you hold will soon either disappear or start looking different and that what we each do may change, or maybe not, wait and see.
It’s a lot to take in. Steady-asshe goes stability in at least one are of your life is key.
That’s why I’ve appreciated my sporting life with the Waimak Dragons more than ever lately.
When I’m in the dragon boat I’ve a clear goal and I know exactly how to get there. Every race has the same goal regardless of what’s waiting on the shoreline.
Coming home with two bronzes and a silver from the South Island champs has been a lovely distraction.
