Electricity discount coming
Mid Canterbury electricity customers are in for a share of a $3.3 million windfall.
EA Networks has announced that it will this year be providing a deferred discount for its electricity customers of $3.3 million, including GST.
In a statement announcing the discount, EA Networks said many locals may not realise that as an electricity customer in Mid Canterbury, they are very likely to also be a shareholder of EA Networks.
As New Zealand’s only locally owned co-operative electricity distribution company, EA Networks is in the unique position of having shareholders that are also direct customers. That focuses the company on delivering value back to the community.
The discounts will come in the form of a credit on the customer’s retail electricity account and will be based on the amount of line charges paid the previous year.
Customers should expect to see it in the April or May electricity account.
EA Networks owns and operates the region’s electricity distribution network, a high speed fibre-optic broadband network.
