With another amazing New Zealand summer upon us, the Simply You team has used this issue to shine a spotlight on the incredible lifestyle that this country has to offer. Putting this summer bonanza together, I was struck by the diverse styles of ‘country living’ we have in our own backyard. From the incredible mansion and park-like grounds of former Simply You editor Bridget Hope in Christchurch (page 48) to the rustic charm of a Whitford farmhouse (page 78), what’s clear is that our rolling green environment informs the way we live – and decorate.
On an international level, Angela Missoni’s villa in northern Italy (page 66) serves as wonderful inspiration for eclectic, yet considered, style.
Following the success of our sell-out Colour My Life tour, we’ve also peppered this issue with styling highlighted at our two luncheons in Auckland and Wellington. I hope you are inspired by the room sets we designed especially for the events (page 32). They’re an example of how to layer texture and colour to create your own little slice of paradise at home.
We also celebrate exceptional talent with profiles on the women behind The Botanist florist, as well as kitchen and bathroom designer Luciana Borges. Our expanded travel section takes you to Croatia, the wine region of Waipara and around the world with luxe accommodation, reminding us how important it is to expand our horizons and let the world surprise us with its beauty.
Have a wonderful Christmas and summer!
