Ever wanted to get into ski racing?
If you have thought about getting into ski racing here are some teams that offer training options for athletes aged 8+yrs from Entry level to FIS. Athletes compete on a regional, national and international level. This is a starting point to get selected for the NZ Ski Team and race in World Cup events and the Olympics for NZ. Ski racing is a very social sport for both the parents and athletes. Think Saturday morning sports on the snow. There is a big commitment to be on snow every weekend and school holidays but its fun and the whole family can be involved. If the mountain is closed for the day, most teams will offer dry-land training for the athletes. Visit each website for more info on the teams or go to www.skiracing.org.nz for more info. The season starts in June and finishes early October with off-season training offered in the northern hemisphere.
