Plug in the iron and set it to a fairly low heat. The wax should melt easily but shouldn’t smoke; if it does the iron is too hot. Hold the iron with the pointed end facing down and drip wax evenly over the base. (Pic 2) You want enough wax on there to cover the base, but don’t go overboard – it’s more to scrape off. Generally the edges are the most important. Now run the iron over the wax so it melts and is absorbed into the base. Keep the iron moving - you can damage the base if you leave it in one spot for too long. (Pic 3) Do both skis and leave until they’re cool to the touch – about 30 minutes.
