EXPLORE WANAKA WITH WILL JACKWAYS

-

My dream from a young age once I discovered and fell in love with the snow was to somehow carve out a career by being in mountains full time, I was lucky enough to do this as a professional snow boarder, travelling the world to explore and enjoy culture and then every winter returning back to where I love most and call home - Wanaka !

I look around now in a town that I’ve lived in for 30 years and gone are the old rust bucket car's that were once a stable in the ski field carpark and in their place now is a fleet of Range Rover's, Audi's and Hilux's. The growth has been huge here, it went from a sleepy ski town to one of New Zealand’s top tourist destinations, yet it still up holds it small town feel with a relaxed vibe!

The one thing I think and hope will never change in Wanaka is the surroundings and simply how breathtakingly beautiful it is, it truly is stunning and has so much to offer.

Through all our experiences and careers as professional snowboarder's and our love for travel, we feel very fortunate to have been able to start Explore Wanaka. We've been on some amazing adventures; some I can only dream of now and I know all these experiences have shaped us.

At Explore Wanaka our goal is to share this passion and extensive knowledge, creating inspirational experiences and life long memories.

Whether you are wanting to be standing at the top of a pristine peak about to drop into a powder filled field, ride some user friendly freeride terrain or the immaculate half pipes and terrain parks, this is all at your fingertips with us, you will have a unique and personable experience leaving you inspired to get out more and do what you love!

Some of our most rewarding days now are spent with clients, hearing their stories, their back grounds , understanding where they come from and what gets them stoked. Seeing their excitement when great days come together and knowing that we've played a part in that Is probably the pinnacle of this job and the essence of why we do it.
