Funding boost for surfing initiative

-

An initiative offering mental health support for Taranaki farmers has been given a financial boost.

The New Plymouth Surfriders Club has been given $3467 in the form of a New Zealand Community Trust grant to support the Surfing for Farmers initiative it helps run, which is also available nationwide.

The organised event offers a chance for farmers to come together and socialise, while getting out on the water.

The money would be used to buy more surfboards to use as part of the programme, and for other events the club runs, including family fun nights.
