Police seek information on Mangakino assault
Police are investigating the serious assault of a 49- year- old man in Mangakino last week.
Information gathered by police indicates that he was set upon when he and several others went to a local address after an earlier incident in the town involving a family member.
The man received serious facial injuries, bruising to his body and lacerations to his head as a result of the attack.
He is recovering in Waikato Hospital.
Detective Rick Rudolph said police are talking to the two groups involved but have not made any arrests at this stage.
Mr Rudolph would like those with information to come forward.

‘‘ From a regional council perspective we are, at this stage, unable to take any action unless more information comes to light that would identify the source.
‘‘ Any information from the community would be helpful,’’ Mr Ward said.
