Katy wins top service person Romeo award

TSB Bank customer service consultant Katy George has been in the job for six years and loves it.
“I like the variety of the job — no day is the same. I like working with numbers and love customers and I like helping people. I get a lot of satisfaction out of making things good for them.”
Katy recently won the ITM Stratford Best Female Service Person category at the recent Stratford Press Romeo Business and Service Awards and says she is rapt with the recognition.
“I want to say a big thank you to the people who nominated me — it really was a huge shock to win.
“I really did not expect that,” she said.
She says being good at the job comes down to to being friendly and approachable and being able to talk to all different types of people.
Born and bred in Taranaki, Katy lives on a lifestyle block just out of Stratford with her husband Peter and has three children Kieran (21) Megan (19) and Michael (15).
Before working at the bank, Katy did a variety of jobs as well as staying at home with the children when they were young before starting part-time work at Stratford SBA and before having children at the AA.
Her job includes new customers, opening accounts, Insurance and Kiwi Saver and generally helping people out and she can’t see herself doing anything different.
“I love working here and TSB is a great firm to work for.
They are really great at responding to our needs and I couldn’t have asked for a better company to work for.”
