Play golf games to support Team Hope

- By ILONA HANNE

Whether you are an avid golfer or have never even held a golf club before, Team HOPE would like you to get involved with their annual Ambrose Golf Tournament, says Donna Millar.

Donna, the chairperson of Team HOPE, says the golf tournament puts the fun into fundraising for the charitable trust every year.

“Borrow some clubs if you need and put a team of three together to come along and support Team HOPE.”

Donna says the tournament entry fee of $40 per person makes it an affordable, fun event with all money going towards helping the trust help people in the community facing some form of adversity.

“The entry fee includes a sausage sizzle during the day as well as a meal in the evening.”

The golf tournament is the biggest fundraising event held by Team HOPE each year, and Donna says the prizes on offer this year make it worth entering.

“There are prizes sponsored for certain holes, as well as spot prizes. In addition we have had some items given to us for an auction to take place on the day as well. These items include a G-Watch, two nights accommodation in Motorua, a rugby jersey signed by the Chiefs, a dinner for six people to be catered at your home, an advertising package and lots more.”

She says the event can only take place each year thanks to the many people who get involved.

“We would like to thank all those that are supporting our golf tournament, whether as a team member, a volunteer, or a sponsor. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to help those in need.”
