Ac­tion-packed race day for fes­ti­val

An ac­tion-packed day of horse rac­ing and fun will be held on De­cem­ber 29 at the Strat­ford Rac­ing Club.

The In­ter­is­lander Sum­mer Fes­ti­val is re­turn­ing to Strat­ford and will of­fer some­thing for ev­ery­one in­clud­ing live mu­sic, tasty bites, all-day en­ter­tain­ment and races.

This year, the fes­ti­val will host 29 races across the coun­try from Whanga¯ rei to Otago.

Strat­ford Rac­ing Club spokesper­son David Jones says the In­ter­is­lander Sum­mer Fes­ti­val has grown in pop­u­lar­ity year on year, es­tab­lish­ing it­self as a not-to-be-missed event on Strat­ford’s cal­en­dar.

“Strat­ford res­i­dents look for­ward to the In­ter­is­lander Sum­mer Fes­ti­val ev­ery year and this year is no ex­cep­tion. Head­ing to the races with friends and wha¯ nau has be­come a sum­mer tra­di­tion here in Strat­ford. “The youngest race­go­ers can ex­pect ac­tiv­i­ties rang­ing from bouncy cas­tles and sack rac­ing to ju­nior fash­ion shows.”
