Xmas surprises for families Radio plays Santa to four local families

Stratford Press - - Year In Review - By ILONA HANNE

Emma Helleur and the team at The Hits Taranaki have been busy this week, playing Santa to four deserving Taranaki families.

Emma says she and the team wanted to do something to support some of the families in our region for whom Christmas is going to be hard this year.

Emma put out an appeal for people to nominate deserving families and was overwhelmed by the response.

“Reading all the nominations was certainly heartbreaking at times, some people have gone through so much this year, and we really do send our love and best wishes to anyone who is finding Christmas hard this year.”

Thanks to the generosity of some local businesses, Emma and the team have been able to make a very real difference in four homes this year.

On Monday and Tuesday this week, Emma and the team surprised two of the winners with a Christmas delivery, including everything a family could need for Christmas, from presents for the kids and adults to food for the Christmas day meal right down to a pavlova. The Hits Taranaki Santa Surprise team worked hard to put smiles back on faces.

The team is out again tomorrow and Thursday surprising the last two families. Watch the live feeds of each visit on The Hits Taranaki Facebook page.
