Tap into free water

-

I read with interest the reports on the Stratford District Council Public Forums.

Water meters seem to be up for discussion and ratepayers have had a chance to air their views.

It amazes me that nature is such a wonderful provider of this essential commodity, and we seem happy to let it fall off our roofs and in to storm water drains to disperse without a single thought about storage.

Why oh why is the council not taking a lead and insisting that every new build must put in a water tank to collect this water, which is actually free.

The water could be used for toilets, watering the garden, water blasting buildings or washing the car.

I personally feel the meters are a short-term fix and not a long-term solution.
