Stratford Golf Club: On Saturday the start of the 2022 club season started. The Summer Cup is the first trophy up for grabs, and was keenly contested for by nearly 40 golfers.

This is a two-round nett comp and Murray Cook has the lead with a nett 67, closely followed by Dave Banham on nett 69, then back to a gaggle of golfers within four shots or more.

This week is the club shootout comp followed by the two-man Lions Ambrose comp the following Saturday so please get those entries into the club.

Stratford Avon Bowling Club: At the Thursday Optional Triples Rex Dyason, Cliff Smith, and Alice Gooch came second.

Dennis McEwen, Irwin Van Pelt, and Mike Sherning fourth.

After three rounds of the Fridaynight business house Bowls3five social comp, a three-way tie for the lead has developed just in front of the chasing pack between the Hustlers,

Last Years Losers, and None of Your Business.

Over the weekend the 2022 women’s and men’s Club Championship Pairs were completed. In the women’s the mother-and-daughter team of Alice Gooch-Karen Bond defeated the veteran Bari Oliver, who had a wonderful weekend with firstyear bowler Wendy Walker.

In the men’s, Brian Pearce-Iain Parker won their second pairs championship in three years by defeating Odie Walters-Mike Sherning who had to swallow the bitter pill of being runners-up for the second year running.
