AN AWARDS PROGRAMME AND LEARNING PLATFORM IN ONE
The New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards programme is a learning platform which recognises farmers’ achievements, drives personal development, promotes best practice, allows them to grow industry networks, and use the programme to develop skills along the way. Encompassing three categories - Share Farmer of the Year, Dairy Manager of the Year and Dairy Trainee of the Year - entering the Awards is a learning journey about the industry, about business and about the entrant as a farmer. Just as the dairy industry continues to evolve and grow, so does the Awards programme, which attracts farmers from across the country working in all levels of the dairy industry.
After much consultation, feedback and discussion, three categories were refreshed and revamped for the 2022 programme, to ensure the programme remains relevant and continues to provide the best platform for all entrants to learn, connect and grow.
Category winners are found in 11 regions throughout New Zealand. These category winners now progress to the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards national programme with the National winners announced at the National Gala Dinner in Christchurch at Te Pae Convention Centre on Saturday 14 May 2022.
Entering one of the categories remains one of the best ways people can raise their profile and reputation, receive feedback about their business from industry experts, as well as learn more about the industry to progress their career.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback the Awards programme receives from entrants is how much they learnt during the process and how glad they are they entered. Entrants relish the opportunity to meet, network and socialise with like-minded people who live and breathe the dairy industry, with many life-long friendships created over the years.
The regional award dinners provided an opportunity for the volunteers and sponsors, who provide so much support to the entrants and programme, to be acknowledged. The New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards are supported by national sponsors DeLaval, Ecolab, Federated Farmers, Fonterra, Honda, LIC, Meridian, and Ravensdown, along with industry partners DairyNZ and MediaWorks.
