Stratford Avon Bowling Club:

-

On Tuesday the women’s team lost their Egmont Shield game against O¯ punake.

On Saturday the women played on the second and final day of the Taranaki Women’s Interclub second division. They won both rounds on the day by winning two of the three games and came third out of five teams in their section.

It is the first time Stratford Avon has had a women’s team in Taranaki Interclub for many years and, given the number of junior bowlers in the team, it is an effort the team should be extremely proud of.

On Sunday the semifinal and final of the Men’s Club Championship Pairs were played. John Sextus and Paul Digby first defeated Iain Parker and Brian Pearce in their semifinal and then went on to beat the junior bowler pairing of Kevin Sullivan and Brian Needham, who had earlier respectively beaten Mike Sherning and Chris Hall.

On Sunday the club had a fun afternoon roll-up for those who have been apologetically short on opportunities due to our greens being used to host Taranaki Bowls events.
