ANZCO BEEF COLLECTIVE 2022

-

When the planning phase of the Beef Section for the Stratford A&P Show 2022 was underway, the beef committee decided it was time to try something new.

We agreed that our long-term goal was to be the premium beef show in New Zealand and to develop into this, the society needed to ensure that they could provide a safe and attractive package deal that would appeal to the rural, urban and commercial communities.

To meet the criteria of a premium beef show, the committee knew they would need to entice exhibitors, intrigue the general public and provide an avenue of education for all those who attended.

With their master goal in mind, they began to formulate their plan and the initial Beef Alley started to materialise. Although still in the beginnings of achieving their ultimate long-term goal, they are definitely on the right track to reaching it.

This year, in the beef show rings you will be able to observe seven beef breeds from around the North Island as they compete in the 2022-2023 NZ Royal Agriculture Society (RAS) Royal Beef event – The RAS promotes rural excellence, sustainability and innovation in Agriculture.

You will be able to watch the trained butcher break down a hind quarter of local reared prime beef into the prime cuts that you see in the butchery. Smokn Comrades will prepare the cuts and you will be able to taste test the different cuts cooked via different cooking methods.

The society then hosts a BBQ cook off, between special guests to challenge their steak cooking expertise and have a panel of judges will provide feedback to help you get that perfect cook this summer.

Children will enjoy the min kid’s zone where they can take photos in the cattle themed photo booth and cash in their show day passport.

Plus, of course, who could have a beef show without being able to purchase some authentic American-style low and slow BBQ meats from The Farmers Grill while enjoying a cold beverage.

The society sends thanks must to all sponsors, especially the silver and gold sponsors who have trusted them to deliver something different this year.

The society is super excited to grow Beef Alley to become the talking point of future shows.
