An Orkney Distillery ‘Single Malts of Scotland’ 13-year-old

-

While independent bottler Single Malts of Scotland hasn’t identified it as such, I would say this was a Highland Park, if I had to guess between the two distilleries in Orkney.

Sweet natural honey and overripe bananas come through on the nose, while a slight peppery spice was felt on the palate, which was a touch savoury.

A well-finished, well-rounded combination of flavours, I would expect anyone could find some pleasure in this one, whether new to whisky or an old hand. Sorry, it’s gone, but Whisky Galore recommends: • Old Pulteney 15-year-old • Kilkerran 12-year-old
