1. For a loop

As well as an A-MAZ-ING new Christchurch store, Mecca just continue to kill it with its cult beauty offering, and this month we’re ooh-ing over new-to-NZ high-tech sheet mask brand LOOPS. Pick up a single mask (from $10) to target something specific (such as brightening, repairing or targeting dark spots) or try the rainbow-hued Variety Loop 5-Pack ($48) so you’re ready for whatever the coming silly season throws at your skin.

5. Good skin protection

Aussies know their stuff when it comes to sunscreen, so new People4Ocean SPF50+ Mineral Bioactive Shield Lightly Tinted Cream ($65) is definitely one to look out for when it’s time to update the summer protection kit. Infused with natural pigments for softly blurring coverage, this hydrating and illuminating tinted mineral sunscreen provides defence against solar damage and free radicals and works equally beautifully on its own or under makeup. Big bonus points for also being free of both skin- and environment-damaging nasties.

2. Hand it to ya

Created with the goal of making hand care a form of self care, Canadian brand Paume has added a dreamy Renewing Hand Serum ($54) to its luxe line-up of products. This lightweight serum is specially formulated to reduce and prevent the signs of ageing in your hands via active ingredients like Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and natural retinol alternative bakuchiol, which work to visibly even skin tone, improve elasticity and texture and reduce the appearance of brown spots and fine lines.

3. Frizz-free

Get busy on frizzy locks this sticky season with Moroccanoil’s latest – Frizz Shield Spray (from $25). Formulated with Moroccanoil HydroResist Technology and naturally derived ingredients such as jackfruit oil and the brand’s signature argan oil, this weightless, heat-activated spray forms a shield to repel humidity and provide longlasting protection against unwanted frizz, flyaways and static for all hair types.

4. Natural glow

From faux tan pros Bondi Sands comes Everyday Skincare Be Bronze Instant Bronzing & Hydrating Serum ($23) – a moisturising two-in-one with a universal, sun-kissed tint (and a very slick dupe of Drunk Elephant’s D-Bronzi for less than a third of the price) enriched with a blend of botanicals including cupuaçu butter and squalane for intense, all-day hydrating.
