- BY TODD MURRAY Joseph Parker TELEVISION HIGHLIGHTS

Tastray after having to withdraw from hisufcbout next week due to injury (Fight Club, page 39).

Hunt is no spring chicken and his battles in and out of the octagon have been well documented in this newspaper. Hedoesn’t have the luxury of Parker, there can be no measured build-up – the clock is ticking on his fight career. The impact he has made over the last fewufcfights and fans he has won – Hunt has over 12,000 Twitter followers – is crucial for his final push to the top echelons of the sport and bigger paydays. The cruel fact is that in the fight gamemomentumis crucial and Hunt will rue an opportunity lost.

To characterise Shane Cameron’s defeat to David Tua as an opportunity lost is like saying Mike Tyson only nibbled on Evander Holyfield’s ear.

The impact of the demolition on the Kiwi boxer stopped his fight career in its tracks and left mental scars that have taken a long time to heal. As Cameron himself says in our page 32 feature: ‘‘I hate it. I hate it every day. I’m always hindered by the David fight.’’

Three fighters, a trio of contrasting stories.

For the past year or so Sunday News has covered the stories in and out of the ring – and the octagon – particularly in our Fight Club page.

Brutal sports but withhuman tragedy and triumph that make for a compelling read.

Cameronsummedup the fine line the fighters tread in his interview, ‘‘One punch can change a whole fight, your whole career.’’
