Mercurial Marshall inspires Tigers to Raiders rout

TIGERS RAIDERS 40 0

-

CANBERRA became Tiger Town, as the mercurial Benji Marshall inspired his side to their sixth straight victory with a crushing win over the Raiders last night. The Kiwis captain was simply magic in the seven try rout; setting up three tries and deadly with the boot. The home side had no answer for Marshall’s magic, but deserved the duck, only their second ever at home, with an embarrassing battery of errors and inept ball control. Alongside Marshall, hooker Robbie Farah starred, while the Tigers look to have uncovered a new star in standoff Curtis Sironen, son of Balmain Tigers legend Paul. Suitably it was a Raiders error that would lead to the first points, with centre Blake Ferguson made a simple fumble off the back of a defensive scrum 14 minutes in. The Sydneysiders would oblige, with the hulking Sironen dragging three defenders with him across the chalk for his first NRL try.
