1965 / TRUEMAN’S TEST RETIREMENT The test career of iconic English fast bowler Fred Trueman comes to an end in a seven-wicket win over New Zealand at Lord’s. Trueman finished his 67th test with figures of 2-40 and 0-69 for a career total of 307 wickets – which remained a world record for 10 years until West Indian spinner Lance Gibbs surpassed him. 1984 / DUSTIN JOHNSON BORN He’s bagged himself the hand of Paulina Gretzky – the model/pinup daughter of ice hockey legend Wayne and today the huge-hitting American golfer Dustin Johnson turns 30.
