Win could be his last in Blues jersey

-

I don’t know what’s going to happen next year.’ ROBBIE FARAH

‘‘I don’t have a decision,’’ he said. ‘‘For me, I don’t have a decision. I treat every game like it’s my last.

‘‘I know that it could be my last game, there’s no hiding from that fact. I don’t know what’s going to happen next year. Twelve months is a long way away. But I don’t think age is a factor.’’

Leading into game three, Farah admitted he never feared for his position despite a series loss because he still believed he was NSW’s best No 9 option.

While the Blues have a plethora of back-rowers to choose from, they don’t have a young hooker banging down the door. Peats, Michael Lichaa, Mitch Rein and possibly even Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce will be challenging for the Blues dummy half role next year.

Farah is well aware his place in the side is far from guaranteed, but insists he wasn’t emotional in what could have been his final outing for his beloved Blues.

‘‘I tried not to think about it to be honest,’’ Farah said.

‘‘I try not to get too sentimental these days. It is what it is. I love my time here and never take it for granted.

‘‘Like I said, I don’t think anyone has got the right to finish on your own terms. You have to earn that.

‘‘I treat every game like my last, I go out there and bust my ass. I go out there and give it everything I’ve got. I know if I do that I will walk off the field con- tent with my performance. It could be my last, it might not be. Let’s see what happens.’’

Before the series finale, Daley had indicated there would be a changing of the guard in 2017.

‘‘Tomorrow night is about us signing off this year on a positive,’’ Daley said before game three.

‘‘I think that will really lead us into the next era, and we have got a lot of young guys who have been given an opportunity throughout the series, so it’s exciting times for them and let’s hope they show everyone tomorrow night what they are capable of.
