70-year-old trapped under car at circus
A 70-year-old man was trapped under a four-wheel-drive car at a circus in Canterbury.
St John and Fire crews were called to Wylie Park in Kaiapoi just before 2pm yesterday. He was later freed and transported to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries, a St John spokeswoman said.
Emergency services could not comment on how the man came to be trapped under the vehicle.
Cirque Grande, was on show in the park at the time. According to a promotional webpage, Cirque Grande is a "brand new circus on its very first tour in New Zealand".
