Ex-priest gets life for 1960s murder
Writer accuses Spacey of grabbing crown jewels
HOUSTON A jury yesterday sentenced an 85-year-old former priest to life in prison for the 1960 killing of a schoolteacher and former beauty queen who was a member of the parish he served.
The same jurors in Hidalgo County in South Texas had found John Bernard Feit guilty of murder, for killing Irene Garza after she went to him for confession at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen, Texas.
Garza, 25, disappeared on April 16, 1960. Her bludgeoned body was found several days later. She had been raped and suffocated.
Feit came under suspicion in the investigation early on. Two fellow priests told authorities that Feit had confessed to them.
Prosecutors presented evidence that church and elected officials suspected Feit but didn’t want to prosecute him, fearing it could harm the reputations of the P TEXAS DEPT OF PUBLIC SAFETY church and Hidalgo County elected officials, most of whom were Catholic. AP OSLO A new accuser – this one with a Norwegian royal connection – has come forward to tell Norwegian media that actor Kevin Spacey groped him under a table at a Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo 10 years ago.
Danish-Norwegian writer Ari Behn, formerly married to Princess Martha Louise and father of three, is the 16th man to accuse Spacey of sexual misconduct in the wake of a flood of allegations that have helped to fell prominent men in entertainment, politics, media, business and fashion over the last two months.
Behn told Norwegian radio station P4 that Spacey grabbed his genitals while suggesting a ciga- rette break during the annual Peace Prize Concert that Spacey was co-hosting that year.
‘‘We had a nice conversation, he was sat next to me,’’ Behn, 46, told the station, according to stories in Britain’s Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph.
‘‘After five minutes, he says, ‘Hey, let’s go out and have a cigarette’, and then he touched me right on the [genitals] under the table.’’
Spacey’s representative did not respond to a request for comment. The actor checked into an Arizona luxury rehab center for sex addiction therapy last month. USA Today
