Box brings goodies to family tables

-

goodies to help Kiwi family in need this Christmas.

The community-funded Christmas Box project, by LIFE Community, supplements breakfast, lunch and dinner meals – and a treat or two – for a family of 4-6 for more than aweek.

During its first year, 2001, LIFE sent out fewer than 100 parcels, wrapped in banana boxes.

The idea was simple – to reach families in need, community manager Lili Lemalu said. But as the need kept growing, the organisation did too: the project has now fed more than 110,000 families – reaching half amillion people across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Christmas Box is a Stuff sponsored event.
