Bassett ruled out of series

Australian Diamonds captain and goal shoot Caitlin Bassett will miss netball’s Quad Series in England after fracturing her left foreman during a practice match in Manchester. Bassett will remain with the team, who play their opening match against South Africa in Liverpool tomorrow morning (NZ time), while shooter Kiera Austin will join the squad. Bassett’s forearm will be in a splint for about six weeks and coach Lisa Alexander was confident she would be available for the opening round of Super Netball in April. The Quad Series also features Commonwealth Games champions England and New Zealand.
