Covid tally

There were 4790 community cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand and 648 people in hospital yesterday, according to the Ministry of Health. The seven-day rolling average of case numbers was 5608. Last Saturday, it was 7405. There are now 1638 deaths confirmed as attributable to the disease. The people in hospital are spread across the country, including Northland (34), Waitemata¯ (51), Counties Manukau (51), Auckland 133, Waikato 60, Bay of Plenty 26, Lakes 15 and Capital & Coast (20).
