Christchurch streets were blocked yesterday afternoon during a march by about 1000 anti-government protesters. In a speech at the Bridge of Remembrance before the march, Destiny Church founder Brian Tamaki said that he recently travelled to Australia and he could ‘‘smell’’ freedom there. Tamaki also espoused anti-vaccine views and said the political system had ‘‘raped us’’. Police said they had been in contact with the organisers before the march.
